Celebrating Community, Resilience, and Black Excellence

Updated: Feb 6

Hello Sweeties,

As we dive into 2025, I find myself reflecting on a transformative moment from last August, South Dade’s annual Evening of Honors. It was a night of celebration, growth, and community as we came together to recognize Black-owned businesses and celebrate the graduation of the 2024 Cohort Class.

This event wasn’t just about achievements, it was about the resilience, determination, and shared experiences that make our community stronger.

Participating in the South Dade Chamber’s 2024 Cohort Class was an honor and a deep personal journey. At 36 weeks pregnant, I stood among 27 other graduates, each of us sharing a story of perseverance and growth.

It wasn’t always easy, but I’ve learned to see challenges not as obstacles but as opportunities to grow. A quote that carried me through this journey is from The Everyday Warrior by Mike Sarraille:

"Achieving your goals is admirable, but often, the battles you fight along the way hold even more valuable lessons."

The lessons I’ve gained have shaped not only my approach to business but also my commitment to empowering others.

The event was more than a celebration, it was a launching point for new possibilities. Sweet Rosy remains dedicated to showing our Sweeties that with passion and perseverance, anything is possible.

Though months have passed, the momentum and inspiration from that night still fuel my work today. It’s a reminder that we’re all part of something bigger, a community where we lift each other up and celebrate every win, big or small.

As we move forward in 2025, Sweet Rosy is committed to continuing the legacy of resilience, growth, and community empowerment. Let’s make this year one of progress and celebration, together.
